BADOGLIO'S CAMPAIGN HINT OF HIS RECALL ABYSSINIANS CLAIM NORTH By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, (Received January 1(1, 7.5 p.m.) LOXDON, Jan. 15 The News Chronicle's Borne correspondent states that Marshal Badoglio, Commander-in-Chief of the Italian forces in Abyssinia, ostensibly for health reasons, may soon return to Italy. Since he took over the campaign his chief achievement has been the bombing of Bed Cross stations, to the indignation of tho civilised world. The fact that the disclosure of Marshal Badoglio's offensive is only made now may be attributed to the meagre results, adds the correspondent. The disclosure coincided with an elaborate official explanation in Rome of the difficulties presented by the campaign. Addis Ababa and Makale have been practically cut oil from Adowa. '1 he Abyssinians claim to have secured the initiative in the north owing to the success of Has Seyoum in Gheralta, between Makale and Bauzien, where he routed an Italian ammunition column, killed 65 Italians and captured a few machine-guns, many rifles and much food.
