HIGH LEVEL OF WAIKATO
RESULT OF HEAVY RAINS WORK ON BRIDGE HAMPERED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday The heavy rains which fell earlier in the week in the Taupo district were reflected to-day in the Waikato River, which at Hamilton is running sft. above its normal level. The water is very discoloured. "Work on a coffer dam at oue of the piers of the Fairfield Bridge, which was commenced yesterday, had to be temporarily suspended owing to the high river level. Work on the superstructure of the bridge is proceeding satisfactorily. The weather was fine in Hamilton yesterday and to-day.
