Thursday Awapuni will bo well represented at Ashlnirst and Trentham on Anniversary Day. Tho track conditions wore holding this morning and, with the flags over 20ft. out, the times were slow. . Synicony, tho Welluigton Stakes candidate* was restricted to an easy task on the inner grass. While she does not carry a great deal of condition, the filly looks in good order. La Crown (W. E. Pine), who has shaped up nicely as a result of her racing during the holidays, ran an easy six furlongs in 1.22 1-5, the first three furlongs in 40s. Dawning Light (Reed) jumped into her stride smartly, to run the first furlong in 13 2-ss, and three in 40 4-ss, but then eased up to take 42 3-5s for the last threo oi' six furlongs, completing the full distance in 1.23 2-5. The Wellington Cup candidate Tout le Monde (McCaule.v) had Round Score' (Reed) as a partner over seven furlongs. Keeping together throughout, thov ran tho first furlong in 14s, four in 53 2-ss, and seven in 1.33 2-5. Round Score had the worst of the weights, but he had the inside running. Both were travelling within themselves at tho finish. Petrarch (Rao) and Barley Almond j (Mansfield) jumped away at the seven furlongs post, but they were not required to gallop till within three furlongs of home. Barley Almond, who will contest tho Trial Plate at Iront.liain on the second day, had too much pace for the light-weight candidato, running the last three in 3< Js. Corroborce (Rood) and Martial Lady (Chishohn) ran an easy five furlongs in 1.10 1-5, after leaving the first two behind in 27 2-ss. Invoice (L. H. •Tones) and Silver Jest (McCanley), two members of T. Lloyd's team at present quartered here, were partners over half a mile. They took 14 1-os for tho first furlong and came home in 52 2-os, a useful effort. Happy Hunting (Anderson) took 15s for her first furlong, and completed her half-mile in 535. Bazaine (Reed), who was under a firm hold j throughout, slipped over three furlongs in 395. The two hurdlers Ruenzori (A. McDonald) and Tiger Bill (Thomas), ran a mile in 1.62 3-5, alter traversing the first two furlongs in 27 4-ss, and five in 1.10. Vonia Park (McCaule.v) registered a nice effort by running his first three in nnd completing six turiongs in 1.10 2-5. Gohl Cure (I'liie) maintained an even pace over six furlongs, running j the first three in 39s and the full dis- j tar.ee in 1.19 1-5. The old fellow retains his pace remarkably well. Gomer, instituted an inquiry into the running of Tassau. The judicial committee, after hearing evidence, adjourned the inquiry until to-morrow morning.
