PIGEON RACING
HIKURANGI CLUB EVENT [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Thursday The Hikurangi Pigeon Club flew the last old-bird race from Christchurch, a distance of 5(15 miles. The first two birds, which arrived home Ihe morning following the liberation, belonged to Mr. R. Laurie. The well-known red eh cock Forget-Me-Not was the first bird clocked. In the past three years this bird has secured two firsts and a second from this race point, a splendid performance. Mr. iLaurio has secured the Boswell Cup for the best old-bird average, also the cup given by Sir George Eliot for the first bird home from Christchurch.
