WESTFIELD QUOTATIONS COMPETITION FOR CATTLE SLIGHT ADVANCE IN VALUES A keen do ma ml for all classes of stock resulted in top values appreciating at the Westfield weekly stock sale yesterday. The sale was easily the best for many months, the hip; bench of buyers providing brisk competition for quality lines in both dairy and store sections. The beneficial effects of the recent rains and the consequent heavy pastures have constrained graziers and farmers to buy stock in unusual numbers for this period of the year. There was an average yarding of dairy cattle and the firm values were maintained throughout the sale. Re-cently-calved cows of all breeds were in demand and the top price was £'B for two Holstcins. Jerseys and Jerseycross realised up to £6 ss. The general level of values was on a par with recent firm rates, with a slight appreciation in certain lines.
