TE PUKE NEWS
To farewell Mr. V. Crowley, who has been transferred to the staff of the Bank of Australasia in Auckland, an evening was held in the Parish Hall this week at Te Puke. Solos were sung by Mrs. Cleary and cornet solos were played by Mr. F. Woods. During the supper interval Mr. Crowley was presented with a golf bag by Mr. W. Hookey s on behalf of his friends. Dancing provided enjoyable entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. R. Anderson, who will leave Te Puke shortly to take up their residence in Auckland, were guests at a farewell gathering held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. McKenzio. A presentation of an electric jug was made to Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, and several of those present gave musical and elocutionary items. Mr. Anderson has been transferred to the staff of the Post and Telegraph Department in Auckland. Mrs. N. Freeman leaves Te Puke today for Gisborne and Wellington, and wiil return via Taranaki. Mrs. D. S. B. Heather and family left on Wednesday to spend a fortnight at Mount Maunganui.
