WOMEN'S DIVISION
Drtirv—Mrs. Draper presided at the October meeting of the branch. It was reported that social evenings held at the homes of members had resulted in a substantial amount being raised for the sewing circle. After the ousiAesa a solo by Mrs. Salisbury was much appreciated and community singing was enjoyed. Iho monthly competit ions continue to create interest and this month Mrs. Len. Dreadon was tho winner for puff pastry. Pukekohe East.—At a recent meeting arrangements were finalised for the birthday celebration. The roll call was a sentence from 12 letters of the alphabet. Mrs. Spence enlightened members on tho making of oiled coats. Mrs. Spence also judged tlie competitions, which resulted as follows; —Plain sewing: Mrs. W. Morgan, 1; Mrs. M. Johnston, 2; Miss M. Johnston, 3. Hand sowing: Mrs. M.Johnston, 1; Mrs. Alderton, 2; Miss M. Johnston, 3. Paerata.—At tho October meeting Mrs. R. C. Clark presided. Miss Morrin, of Pukekohe, gave a demonstration of painting on pewter work.
