EARTHQUAKE RECORDED
An earthquake whicjj was felt at Wellington, in the Wairarapa, ab Wanganui, and at Palmerston North, was recorded at 4.2 p.m. last Saturday. It was more pronounced at Masterton and at Wanganui than in Palmerston North or Wellington. An excellent record of the movement was obtained on the seismograph at Btmnythorpe and has been sent to the Dominion Observatory 'at Wellington. It is thought that the origin was out at sea.
