ELECTRIC-POWER SUPPLY
THAMES VALLEY BOARD INCREASE IN BUSINESS [from our own correspondent] TE AROHA, Tuesday A profit of £1139 was disclosed in the half-yearly statement of accounts submitted to the Thames Valley ElectricPower Board to-day by tho manager, Mr. R. Spragtie. It was stated that receipts totalled £66.925, compared with £64,898 for tho corresponding period last year. There was an increase of £2021 in the receipts from the sales of electricity. As the board's charges had been reduced annually a better comparison of the increased load could be shown from the units sold in tho two periods, tho increase being 212,756. There had been a reduction in tho industrial supply.
Mr. Sprague said the board's position could bo considered to be very satisfactory. Application had been made to tho Local Government Loans Board for authority to convert loans totalling £350,000 and to raise £75,000. There were now 9528 consumers in connection with tho board's system.
