TEMPERANCE WORK
The Remuera branch of tho Women's Christian Temperance Union met last week, Mrs. H. Kasper presiding. Vocal solos were rendered by Mesdames Hipwell, Koven Armstrong and Craven. Mrs. A. J. Stallworthy addressed the meeting and gave some forceful facts on the evils of alcohol. Sho stated that Signor' Mussolini had closed 25,000 hotels in one day, and that Herr Adolph Hitler was working to make German youth sober so that ifc might produce an efficient nation. Russia allowed no hoardings or propaganda advertising vodka, and tho reason why it should not bo taken was placed in every place where it was sold.
