GARDENING CLUB
Competition was keen in connection with the front garden contest arranged by the Whangarei Ladies' Gardening Club. The judges, Mesdames W. Given, R. S. Finch and C. Bevins, and Mr. C. Bevins, awarded the following prizes:—Mrs. Thomson, Moody's Avenue, 1;' Mrs. T. Woodman, Powhiri Avenue, 2; Mrs. Simons, Main's Avenue, .'3. The nujin sections under which points wero awarded were design, show of blooms and neatness. The club hold the competition with a view to inspiring householders to cultivate their front gardens.
