LOSS TO THE SPORT
AUCKLAND OFFICIAL LEAVING i By the transfer to Wellington of Mr. A. E. Bockett the -game of tennis in Auckland will lose one of its strongest supporters. Joining the Royal Oak club some six years ago, Mr. Bockett soon took an active interest in its affairs. Since then he has been honorary secretary for three years and a member of the committee for two years. Ho has twice been runner-up in the club singles championuhip, has won the doftbles championuhip with N. Johnston and has represented the club in the A grade inter-club competitions. His interest, however, has been by no means confined to Royal Oak as he has been a delegate to the Auckland Association for some years, and a member of the emergency committee for the !>ast two seasons. As manager of the ast Auclkland championship tournament, he did excellent work. His many friends in this city will wish him every success ia. Wellington.
