POSTAL EMPLOYEES
REUNION AT HAMILTON [FROM OUE OWN CORIIESrONDENT] HAMILTON, Tuesday There was a large attendance of members at the annual reunion of the King Country find Waikato branches of the Post and Telegraph Employees' Association. Among the guests were Sir Alexander Young, Minister of Health, and the Mayor, Mr. J. 11. Fow. Reference was made by Sir Alexander to the increased Savings Bank deposits in the Hamilton postal district. Tho total had nxen to £1,500,000, with deposits exceeding withdrawals by £178,000. This was very illuminating in comparison with 1933, when there was an Excess of withdrawals over deposits. In proposing the toast of the Post and Telegraph Employees' Association, Mr. A. E. Manning said the association had been in existence for nearly 50 years. With a membership of 700 in the early days, the association had now increased to a strength of about 7000.
