MENACE OF WILLOWS
FLOODING IN THE NORTH REPORT TO BE SECURED [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Tuesday Recently representations were made by a deputation of settlers in the Tauraroa district to Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P., asking for Government assistance in freeing the Tauraroa River from willow trees. It was stated obstruction by tho trees was one of the chief causes of the frequent flooding during winter months. The matter was brought before the Minister of Public Works, who is arranging for*the district engineer, Public Works Department, Whangarei, Mr. R. H. P. Ronayne, to report on tho matter.
