CARNIVAL AT WHANGAREI [fro:,i our own correspondent] 'WHANGAREI, Monday A well attended and representative meeting was held last evening in the Town Hall to consider the formation of a club to conduct amateur and professional snorts carnivals periodically in Whangarei. Mr. R. G. Uoeking presided. The convener, Mr. G. Gillet, said the recently-constructed Jubilee Park, would be one of the best sports grounds in the North when properly completed, possessing a '22oyds track. Visitors had often wondered why a town of the size of Whangarei had n-jver had such a carnival, while at Maunga-, tapere, Maungakaramea and Mangakania well-conducted and successful gatherings 1 were held.
