CHURCH AND POLITICS
Sir, —"Rodney" must know that I made no objection to the Auckland clergy group expressing its opinion on social conditions or any other subject, but when tho group condemns our Government —not because of unequal apportionment of our wealth and opportunities —but because of an alleged accumulation of our own products, that our suffering people are prevented from using by somo defect in our financial system, then I must repeat that in common fairness to our Government and our banking system evidence ought to be produced of the existence of the alleged accumulated supplies. No such evidence has been produced either by the group or by any of the reformers who are constantly repeating the same charge. Since butter has been mentioned, will "Rodney" kindly locate the supplies of butter which, year after year, have uselessly accumulated here in place of being either consumed by our own people or exchanged for imports? J. Johnstone. Manurewa.
