Sir, —Would you allow me a lino or two in which to correct a phrase in m.y remarks relative to contraband as set out in tho Hueald of Monday's date. This correction is necessary in order that such remarks may bo consistent. The sentences should read: "An attempt was made about 25 years ago to place the whole position on a more definite and satisfactory basis. The results of these negotiations wore embodied in the Declaration of London, but that treaty was never formally ratified." 11. M. Aloie.
