TWO UNIFORMS TAKEN
tt INCIDENT AT HAMILTON [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Monday The theft of two theatre uniforms was preferred against Kerr Craig Cunningham and Harold Gladstone Oliver CMr. Stewart) in the Hamilton Police Court to-day. Cunningham admitted the offence and Oliver pleaded not guilty. Cunningham, who was convicted and was placed-on probation' for 12 months, said that he and Oliver had been drinking heavily. When passing the Civic Theatre to-gether Oliver suggested ho should enter the office and take the uniforms. Witness did so and handed them to Oliver. Witness' wife would not accept them and they wore burned by witness.
The magistrate, Mr. S. L. Paterson, said the theft only took place when Cunningham Converted the uniforms to his own use by destroying them. Had he returned them it was doubtful if anything would have been done in the matter. The offence arose out of a drunken spree. Mr. Paterson dismissed the caso against Oliver
