POISONING CASE
PATIENTS STILL IMPROVING ONE FAIRLY SERIOUS Further improvement occurred yesterday in the condition of two young men who were admitted to the Auckland' Hospital on Monday suffering from grave illness as a result of strychnine poisoning. The condition of Mr. Ronald Downs, aged 28, single, of 10 Huia Street. Devonport, was still satisfactory, while that of Mr. Cecil McKernan, aged 22, single, although still fairly' serious, has Bhown some progress. Both men were employed on a drainage contract at Ararimu, and became ill after eating some cake early on Monday morning. Detectives have continued with their inquiries, but the two men are still unfit to be interviewed. '
