PLAYERS FOR AUSTRALIA r WOMEN'S TEAM CHOSEN [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday The team of New Zealand women tennis players to compete in the New South Wales championships is:—Misses D. Nicholls (Wellington), N. Beverley (Waikato), D. Miller (North Otago), T. Poofa (Canterbury), I. Poole (Canterbury), and E. Rudkin. Miss R. Taylor (Auckland). The players will leave by the Wanganella on Octooer 24. The New Zealand Association states that this is not an official team, but comprises holders of the New Zealand singles and doubles titles., and the younger ranked players likely to benefit by experience abroad. RIVERHEAD ACTIVITIES The Riverhead Tennis Club opened its new pavilion on Wednesday evening. The chairman, Mr. S. R. Gould, in declaring the building open, spoke of the great interest in tennis in the dietrict. Two new courts had been laid down and a third was nearing completion. The pavilion was erected by the work of members. Allen j secretary, Mr. V. Potter; treasurer, Mr. W. H. Kirkpatrick; auditor, Mr. T. C. Bowler; club captain, Mr. A. F. Day; management committee, Messrs. G. Hargrcaves, V. Potter and T. C. Bowler, and the Misses Andrewes and Holland; social committee, Mesdames T. C. Bowler and J. Molloy and the Misses Andrewes and McDonald: match committee, Meesrs. A. A. Potter, T. C. Bowler and A. F. Day. It was decided to hold the official opening on Labour Day, October 28.
