TATIRANGA CLUB CORNWELL CUP CONTEST [by telegraph—own correspondent] TAURANGA, Thursday At the annual meeting of the Tar.ranga Yacht and Power-Boat Club Mr. P. F. Carter, the commodore, presided over an attendance of 50 members. In presenting his review of the past season Mr. Carter said the club had made good progress. Improvements had been made to the clubhouse, and the membership comprised 84 seniors, 18 juniors and 31 ladies. Very interesting racing was witnessed in all classes, especially tho seven-footers. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit of £42, the assets were valued at £403, and there were no liabilities. Members stood in silence in memory of Mr. Frank Lysaght, a former member of the club, who was recently drowned in England. Officers were elected as "follows;. —Patron, Mr. A. J. Mirrielees; commodore, Mr. J. Ingham; vice-commodore, Mr. P. Simmonds; rear-commodore. Mr, J. Gresham; clubhouse captain, Mr. G. G. Norris; assistant clubhouse captain, Mr. P. F. Carter; lion, secretary, Mr. J. McKinnon; hon. treasurer, Mr. T. Connor; executive com mittee. Hag officer, secretary, treasurer and Messrs. G. G. Norris, H. Mollgaard, ,T. Denby, T. Sneddon, J. Norris, C. Millett, C. Adams, C. Tilby, H. Stevens, Dr. Stenhouse (Katakati). A motion was carried to the effect that the Takapuna Boating Club be advised that tho Tauranga Club is agreeable that the next contest for the Cornwell Cup be held at .Auckland, on condition that the southern clubs compete, and in the event of an Auckland crew winning the cup that the contest for the ensuing year be held at Tauranga.
