ADVANCING THE CLOCKS
HALF-HOUR, ADJUSTMENT SUMMER TIME TO-MORROW PERIOD OF SEVEN MONTHS Summer time will be officially commenced throughout New Zealand at 2 a.m. to-morrow, when it will be necessary to advance all clocks 30 minutes.
The lengthening of the evenings has become particularly noticeable during the past few weeks, and with the addition of half an hour the period oi daylight after work will be generally appreciated. in the past most j>eople have made it a practice to adjust their clocks before retiring for the night to avoid the possibility of confusion the following morning. However, there have now been seven summers of daylight saving, and oversights on the part of the geneial public are becoming increasingly rare year by year. The principal clocks in the city are usually advanced during the night. The daylight saving period will last until two o'clock on the morning of April 26, 1936.
