DEATH IN OFFICE
LATE MR. T. BUCHANAN NATURAL CAUSES VERDICT A verdict that death was due to natural causes was returned by Mr. W. 11. McKean, S.M., coroner, when the inquest into the death of Mr. Thomas Buchanan, aged 65, of 218 Balmoral Road, Mount Eden, was concluded vesterdsiy.
A cleaner employed at the Victoria Insurance Buildings, Shortland Street, gave evidence of having found deceased dead sitting in a chair when she opened the door of an office in the building on August 19. Dr. W. H. Horton, who examined deceased, said he considered death to have been due to heart failure. The coroner said the post-mortem bore out Dr. Horton's opinion, it being stated that 'death appeared to have been caused by coronary scelerosis.
