LAND SPEED RECORD
NO MORE ATTEMPTS CAMPBELL'S PROMISE TO WIFE LONDON, Sept. 25 Sir Malcolm Campbell, speaking at a dinner given to celebrate his recent achievement in creating a new world's land speed record, revealed th 6 fact that he had promised his wife never again to v attack the record when onca he had passed the 300 miles an hour mark.
"I said I would give it up and I am going to do so with one proviso," said Sir Malcolm. "That is that if a foreigner breaks my record I will try again. However, if a Britisher makes the attempt I will do my utmost to assist him."
