SUCCESS OF OLD BOYS IMPETUS TO THE CODE "While local interest has been increased, a decided impetus to the code in the secondary schools of the Dominion should result from the achievements of the Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys' senior team," said Mr. L. Munro, chairman of the Auckland I'ootball Association, at a meeting of the control hoard last evening. Several other members endorsed the chairman s rer marks, and it was decided to congratu; late the Mount Albert Club, which, in its second season of senior football, had won the Falcon Cup and champion of champions trophy. . Mr. L. J. Check, in reporting on business houses competition, said that wished to play a knock-out round. This waß agreed to, and it was decided to place on record the assistance Mr. Check had given in the competition. Mr. J. C. Sibbin, manager of the Auckland junior representative team which defeated the North Auckland junior representatives -last Saturday, reported on the general progress of th< code in the North. _ Final arrangements for the representative match with the Navy at Blandford Park next Saturday were made, and the question of a fixture for the following week was left over.. . , The interest created by tho midget teams at previous representative matches was discussed, and it was agreed to stage a short game nest Saturday if possible. Mr A. E. Caisley, a former member of the New Zealand Council and president of the New Zealand Referees' Association, who has removed from Wellington, was welcomed. He said he intended to take an active part in the pme> next season in Auckland. It was decided to send a letter congratulating Mr. O. Cleal, a member of the MetroCollege senior team, who has-scored over 100 goals in the past seven seasons.
