OLD AGE PENSIONS
-! Sir, —Re old-age pensions, no one was more pleased than myself at the restoration of the cut. But would it not have been better and more humane to have reduced the iniquitously long term of residence to. say 21 years, instead of the 25 at present in force? It just means that the extra 9d is almost unnoticeable to the present recipients, and the poor old creatures who are unable to claim for two or three years are left to struggle on in semi-starva-tion. It is very hard to be a woman, when you are old, worn, and friendless. Worn-out Domestic.
