TENNIS CHAMPION
FRED PERRY MARRIED FILM ACTRESS AS BRIDE > (Received September 13, 5.35 p.m.) „ NEW YORK. Sept. 12 The British tennis champion Fred Perry and Miss Helen Vinson, film actress, were married this evening at Harrisoia, New York, by a justice of the peace. Fred Perry, who is 26 years old, was reported about a year ago to be engaged to Miss Mary Lawson, an English musical comedy artist. That engagement was broken off, however. A cablegram from London on July 16 utated that, iu reply to rumours that bo was engaged to Miss Helen Vinson, iin American actress then working in English film studios, Perry said: "We ure not engaged. We are just friends." Miss Vinson said: "Anything is posuible." Perry and Miss Vinson were at Eastbourne on July 15, obviously interested in each other. They had met in Hollywood and arrived in London by it.be same ship. Miss Vinson flew to Brussels when Perry was playing there and accompanied him back by aeroplane. They celebrated Perry's Wimbledon success together and went to many theatres and parties in each other's company.
