TAURANGA ACTIVITIES
SPINSTERS AND BENEDICTS The spinsters and benedicts of Tauranga gave a return ball to the bachelors in the Town Hall this week. The guests present numbered about 500, and the evening proved a success in every way. The decorations in the hall, which had been arranged by Mr. McQuillan, of Auckland, were very original and effective and they attracted a great deal of comment.* Arrangements for supper were in the hands of Mrs. Robinson. Mrs. Greig Norris, of Gate Pa, has returned from a visit to Auckland.
Miss Jean Kent, of Auckland, is spending a holiday in Tauranga. Mrs. L. E. Woods, of Devonport Road, has returned after spending a fortnight with relatives in Morrinsville and the Waikato.
Mrs. R. M. Hardy, of Auckland, is on a short visit to Tauranga. Miss Grace Collins, of England, who has been spending the last four months in Tauranga, will leave this week for Auckland, where she will spend a month before starting 011 an extended tour of the Dominion. Mrs. Bernard Chambers and Miss Chambers, of Havelock North, are spending a holiday in Tauranga. Miss Beryl Nancarrow, of Christchurch, is on a visit to Tauranga and is staying at St. Annes.
