FANCY DRESS BALL
Many people of the Te Puninga disrtict, both young and old, were attracted to the children's plain and fancy dress ball held in the Te Puninga Hall and organised by the Te Puninga branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union. The children in their varied costumes occupied the floor from 7.30 until 9.30, after which the adults danced until a late hour. The hall was beautifully decorated with streamers, balloons and greenery, and the colourful fancy costumes worn by the children lent an added charm. Many helpers were under the supervision of Mesdames Allison and Finlay. Supper for the children was provided by the Women's Division ladies. Miss A. Martinson played the music for the children's session, and an orchestra of local musicians played dance music for the latter portion of the evening. Mr. W. H. Groubo was in charge of floor arrangements.
