AUCKLAND TEAM'S TOUR SATISFACTORY REPORTS ITINERARY FOR AUSTRALIANS The progress of the representative team now on its southern tour was discussed at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League, when the chairman, Mr. E. J. Phelan, presiding in the absence of Mr. Grey Campbell, said that from all reports received the team had carried out its duties well. He was pleased to report that a good impression was made in Wellington. In a letter to the secretary. Mr. Campbell, manager, reported that the gate receipts at Wellington were satisfactory, and if comparatively as good at Grcymouth and Christchurch the trip would prove a financial success.
The Uawke's Bay League wrote expressing appreciation of the hospitality extended to the Maori team during its recent visit to Auckland. Much good had been derived from the Waitangi Shield matches. The Now Zeuland Rugby League advised that confirmation had been received in connection with the visit of tho Australian team, and the itinerary was as follows: — Saturday, September 21, v. Auckland; September 28, v. Now Zealand; October 2, v. New Zealand; October 5, v. New Zealand; October 9, match to be arranged pending a conference with the Australian managers.
On tho motion of Mr. J. Rukutai it was docided to congratulate Nowton on winning tho Koope Kooster.
