THEATRICAL BENEFIT
MISS NELLIE BRAMLEY ' The benefit performance in honour of Miss Nellie Bramley at His Majesty s Theatre next Saturday night promises to be an outstanding success. When the management of the company of which Miss Bramlsy was the leading lady abruptly closed its Auckland senson recently, Miss Bramley, who was merely on salary and had no say whatever in the control of the company, refused to sail for Australia. She stayed behind and was busy the same evening at His Majesty's meeting disappointed patrons and advising them 02 the position. The strong Auckland committee which has the benefit in hand has arranged a striking programme which should ensure a packed house on Saturday evening. The first act of " Peg of My Heart " wjjl be staged with Miss Bramley in the leading role —a part which created great enthusiasm when she appeared in it during a previous New Zealand tour. A number of leading local artists will comprise the remainder of the cast. The programme will also include songs, dances, sketches and comedy- scenes. The box plan is now open.
