LOWER HOSPITAL FEES
WELLINGTON REDUCTIONS CONCESSION OF 3S A DAY [BY TELEGRAPH —PREBS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Tuesday Reductions in practically all fees for treatment at the Wellington Hospital wero made by the Hospital Board tonight. Tho item of widest application is the charge for in-patients, which was reduced from 12s to 9s a day. Other charges were scaled down by as much as 50 per cent. The new rates will come into operation on January 1, 1936. subject to the approval of the Minister of Health. The reductions are virtually a reversion to the scale in force seven or eight years ago, and are the result of representations by the Labour majority on the board.
