TRAM CONCESSION
EXTENSION URGED A suggestion that an extension of the use of tho Saturday afternoon shilling tickets to sporting events to apply for a time on Sundays might induce more people to use tho trams was made by Mr. J. Sayegh at a meeting ,of the Auckland Transport Board yesterday. Mr. Sayegh commented on tho emptiness oif the tramoars on Sundays, and said an improvement might he obtained by making the tickets available from 9 a.m. until 2.30 or 3 p.m. It was decided to obtain a report from tho manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, and, at tho request; of Mr. .J. A. C. Allum, the position regarding tho sale of the tickets on Saturdays is to be explained. At the request of Mr. E. J. Phelan it was agreed to obtain a report on the position concerning the passes provided for police ofiicers on tramcars, with a description of the methods followed in other centres.
