CAMPBELL'S CAR
OFFER FROM AMERICAN BLUEBIRD FOR EXHIBITION (Received September 9, 8.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 8 A message from Tyler, Texas, states that Mr. Curtis Sanford, a wealthy sportsman of that town, says he has purchased Sir Malcolm Campbell's Bluebird car for 100,000 dollars. He intends to use it for exhibition purposes, not for racing. According to a telegram from Chicago, however, Sir Malcolm denied the actual sale of the Bluebird. His United States representative, Mr. William Sturm, says the offer made by Mr. Sanford possibly will receive consideration.
