WRONGFUL EXPULSION
CLAIM AGAINST UNION STEWARD AWARDED £IOO [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION 1 WELLINGTON, Monday Alleging wrongful expulsion from membership of tho Federated Cooks and Stewards' Union, Henry Edward Sexton, a steward, in the Supreme Court to-day, before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, claimed £4OO from the union and its secretary, Edward Kennedy. Sexton alleged intimidation and inducement of a breach of contract. it was stated that the union's action was duo to an alleged breach of the rules by plaintiff in signing off from the Maunganui at Sydney instead of at Wellington. His Honor gavo judgment for plainfor £IOO and made a declaration that Sexton is still a member of tho union. He held that as there was no award or industrial agreement in force between the union and the Employers' Federation at tho time of Sexton's alleged offence against a union rule he could not be expelled for a breach of such award or agreement.
