MR. CLINKARD'S MISSION The newly-appointed Trade and lourist Commissioner for New Zealand in Europe, .Mr. 0. W. Clinkard, wlio will leave Wellington on September 20, was a guest at the Auckland Rotary Club's luncheon in .Milne and Choyce's Reception Hall yesterday. The president, Mr. J. P. O'Connor, who presided over a large attendance, said it was the wish of members that Mr. Clinkard's services from his headquarters in Brussels would meet with success. The visitors included Mr. L. .J. Donaldson (Sydney), Mr. C. H. Hewlett and Mr. R. 11. Henley (Christchurch). Mr. R. Spedding, Mr. L. Ewert and Mr. D. Kwert (Rotorua), and Mr. A. l'\ Tunks (Taurnnga). Welcomes were extended to three members who recently returned from abroad, Messrs. C. A. Whitney, W. E. Lewisham and .J. Yock. An address on the League of Nations was given by Mr. Lan Donnelly, of Christchurch. He emphasised the good work done by the League and the .significance of its discussions at the present critical time.
