"UNDER FASCIST REGIME" MR. A. J. STALLWORTHY'S VIEWS " Although some people say we are under a Socialist Government, we are really under a Fascist regime," said Mr. A. J. Stalhvorthv, M.P. for Eden, in a pre-sessional address to about 25 constituents at a meeting held at the Gordon Road Methodist Hall, Mount Eden, last night. Mr. S. E. Chappell presided. " We have been robbed of representative Government, and even the rights of members of Parliament have been filched away," added Mr. Stalhvorthv. He criticised the mortgage legislation of the* present Government. Mr. Stallworthy also criticised the Reserve Bank, the high exchange rate, the broadcasting policy and the exclusion of five-year-old children from the schools. He said the taxation concessions likely to be granted during the present session were merely a sop to electors in view of the approaching election.

THE FRANKLIN SEAT NATIONALIST CAMPAIGN Over 60 delegates from all parts of the Franklin electorate attended a conference at I'apakura yesterday, held in support of Mr. J. N. Massey as National Party candidate in the coming election. Mr. H. E. McEnteo presided.

An executive committee was elected from the delegates present. Mr. F. Perkins, of Pukekohe, was elected president of the executive. Mr. Massey was present, and also Mr. W. P. Endean, M.P., Mr. D. Ardell, Dominion organiser of the party, and Mr. Gordon B. Edwards, provincial organiser. Mr. Massey said that he greatly appreciated the largo attendance and the support promised to him. He gave a brief outline of the formation of the National Party and dealt with important items of legislation that the Government had introduced. CONTEST TOR TEMUKA MR. T. D.
