INSURANCE DINNER

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION A representative gathering of about 170 attended an insurance dinner held in Milne and Choyee's Tudor Room on Friday. Mr. N. Spenry, chairman of tho Insurance Institute, presided, and associated with him were Mr. J. Morton, South British Company, Mr. C. Marks, New Zealand Company, Mr. JJ. Kingston, chairman of the Auckland . lure Board, Mr. D. A. Burt, chairman of the Underwriters' Association, Mr. C. Wvatt, chairman of tho Faculty, and Mr. G. R. Brookes, vice-chairman of the Insurance Institute. In extending a hearty welcome to all present, the chairman expressed the hope that the function would be an annual one. At tho conclusion of th® dinner an address was given by Sir Alexander Herdman, his subject being "Reminiscences of the Bar."
