Mr. Justice Callan, who has been presiding over sittings of the Supreme Court in Hamilton, will return to Auckland this evening.

M. Samuel" Mr. W. P. Endean, Mr. F. W. Schramm and Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P.'s, returned to Wellington by train last eveuing. Mr. S. J. Harbutt, acting-chairman of the Auckland Electric-Power Board left by the limited express last evening for Wellington, where he will attend, the annual conference of the ElectricPower Boards' Association. Mr. D. A. Robertson, of the Shaw Savill and Albion Line's London office' is on his way to New Zealand to takfl up a position in the Wellington office of the company. Mr. Robertson was in the Dominion 12 years ago. Mr. H. E.. West, chemist at th& Wheat Research Institute, Christchurch, who recently investigated improvements in milling and baking in the United States and Canada, left Auckland yesterday on his return to Christchurch. Mr. W. J. Harris, of Christchurch, who lias spent a year studying library methods in Europe and the United States under a Carnegie scholarship, ha* arrived in Dunedin to take up the position of librarian to the University of Otago. Dr. Bertram Thomas, who was formerly a British political oftieor in Mesopotamia, will arrive in New Zealand shortly after having delivered a series of lectures at Harvard University, United States. Dr. Thomas is famouj for his adventurous explorations in Southern Arabia. He will return to England, via Australia.
