NEW MOTOR-LINER
THE PORT TOWNSVILLE MODERN PRODUCE CARRIER (Received August 28, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireles? RUGBY, Aug. 27 The new 9000-ton motor-liner Port Townsville, built by Swan Hunter, Wigham, Richardson, Limited, for the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, is in London after completing her trials. Although technically a cargo vessel, she has accommodation for 12 passengers. The vessel is fitted with the latest refrigeration and chilling plant and has more than 300,000 cubic feet of refrigerated cargo space and 200,000 cubic feet of general cargo space. She will carry butter, cheese, fruit and frozen and chilled meat, in addition to general cargo.
