PRESENTATION
APPRECIATION OF SERVICES Members of the ladies' committee of the Animal Welfare Association met last evening for the purpose of extending to Mr. J- Armstead, chairman of the association, their appreciation of the valuable services rendered by him during his long association with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and later with the Animal Welfare Association. Mrs. Speneer Mason, president, on behalf of members, expressed warm appreciation of all that Mr. Armstead had done for the cause they had so much at heart. The Animal Welfare Association could not have come into existence, when troubled times took the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, without his guidance and loyal support. The success achieved by the association and the harmony which characterised all its activities were lurgelv due to his sound advice and gerial personality. Mrs. Spencer Mason then presented Mr. Armstead with a travelling rug from the members. In thanking the ladies for their appreciation and gift ? Mr. Armstead told them that what most impressed him when he first took up animal welfare work was their devotion to the cause. He considered :lt a privilege to have been associated with them in this work and at all times he would be glad to give what assistance he could /in their future efforts in conjunction with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to I Animals.
