GRANT—MASSE Y The marriage of Lilybud, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Massev of Tauwhare, grand-daughter of the'late Mr. John Massey, of Mangere. and grandniece of the late Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, and James- Gordon Grant, of Hamilton, third son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Angus Dingwall Grant, of Warkworth, was solemnised in St. Paul's Methodist Churchy Hamilton, yesterday. The Rev. H. T. Peat officiated and Mr. H. G. Cook presided at the organ. The church had been decorated with flowers in shades of yellow and white. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a graceful gown of ivory satin and Nottingham lace fashioned with high-cowled neckline. The slender-fitting skirt fell into a very long .three-panelled fan-shaped train which was embroidered in beads and finished at the foot with sprays of orango blossom. Her short veil was of embroidered tulle and she carried a bouquet of lily of the valley, hyacinths, azaleas and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Melva Baskett, of Auckland. Miss Freda Massey, sister of the bride, and Miss Lvla Russell, of Auckland, who wore streamlined frocks of petal pink spider-web Chantillv lace appliqued on to tulle, which fell away into a graceful train. Their picture hats were of the same shade of tulle and lace, and were appliqued to match the dresses. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of daffodils, pink cyclamen, azaleas and maidenhair fern. Mr. Angus Grant, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man, and Mr. 'lheo. Massey and Mr. Donald Stevens were the groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, Hamilton, which were beautifully arranged with bowls of Iceland poppies, sweet peas and foliage. The guests were received by Mrs. Massey, wearing a frock of black georgette and lace under a wrap cape of Viennese fur, with black Ballibuntal straw hat. She carried a bouquet of daffodils and campanels blended with pink cyclamen and maidenhair fern. When Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Grant left for the honeymoon the bride travelled in a navv blue ensemble with Marina toque to."match. They will make their home in Hamilton. CHAPPELL—CLARKE The marriage took place on August 3 at Chelsea Register Office of Mr. Peter Stanley Chappell, of Ashcroft House, Kingscote. Tetbury, Gloucestershire and Ladv Eileen Clarke, younger daughter of the late Earl of Ranfurly. formerly Governor of New Zealand, wrote our London correspondent on August 10. Lady Eileen, who was accompanied bv her son, Mr. Charles Clarke, and by her daughter, Miss Diana Clarke, wore a brown dress and hat. The register was 'signed by Lady Constance Milnes Caskell. her sister, and Mrs. Reginald Crawford.
