TRACK ACTIVITIES

MUTE IN GOOD HEART WEE MACHINE GOES WELL INTEREST IN YOUNG HORSES Although the tracks at Epsom were in good order yesterday morning work generally was of an easy nature, trainers with horses engaged at the coming meetings being content to wait until this morning, when the outside of the grass track will be available for fast work from 8.30. Mute worked steadily over four rounds, increasing the pace on each circuit and finishing strongly. He is in good heart and will benefit with another sharp run or two. Autumn Lou, rjklden by W. McLaughlin, trotted evenly over two miles on the sand, taking the bends without showing her usual tendency to bore out. She is in good condition and requires only to strike a correct gait at the start to make a creditable showing. Wee Machine, unhoppled, stepped along briskly over several furlongs. He has assumed better racing shape than when seen out in Juno, and if he can be induced to race solidly is not without prospects. Mountain Sun trotted soundly over several circuits and maintained an even gait. He looks very fit and it will not bo for want of condition if he fails to get boma money at the meetings. Interest was taken in the work of a number of three-year-olds, who are being prepared tor some ot the latei meetings. Gold Pointer, the half-brothei to Young Rodney by Jewel Pointer, displayed some dash in a sprint and is making very satisfactory progress. The Gumdigger—Nellie Bramley colt was responsible for a solid task over two and a-half laps. He is a well-gaitod youngster and his work suggests that lip will come to hand quickly when stopped along more seriously. He is a fui!-brother to Golden Bramble, who is to have her first race on Saturday. Guy Lee trotted boldly for four circuits and hit out well when steppinß briskly along tho back. The Guy Parrish colt has furnished well and shows a good deal of quality. Great Pal. tho well-bred half-brother to Nelson's Glory, gave a nice display for several rounds. He has a little waste action in front, but his stylo is improving. Lyn Worthy was ridden by D. Smith and the big colt went sluggishly. He has made good progress during the last few weeks and is a far better worker in company, when he shows plenty of determination. LIFE MEMBERSHIP
