PRESENTATIONS
The staff, committee and pupils of the Parnell School met at the school on Friday to farewell Mrs. M. M. Baker, who is retiring from the teaching service- She has been a teacher at the Parnell School for the past six years. At the morning interval, the school children assembled in the playground, when a crystal vase and a p«' r of book-ends were presented by Pat Hebden, on behalf of the children. The headmaster, Mr. J. W. McGcchic, and staff, Mr. F. Murphy, a former heqd«> master, and members of the School Committee later mot in the common room. In presenting Mrs. Baker with a handbag on behalf of the staff. Mr. McGechic paid a high tribute to her teaching ability and to her influence at the school, especially among the senior girls. Oi behalf of the School Committee the chairman. Mr. A. 6Harris, presented Mrs. Baker with * travelling rug.
