PORIRUA HARBOUR ROAD

BRIDGE TENDER ACCEPTED COMPLETION IN A YEAR [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Saturday All obstacles concerning tho road bridge at Paremata to give direct access across the Porirua Harbour to Plimmertoii by road have now been overcome and the Public Works Department has accepted the tender of Mr. M. G Templeton, £9787 9s 6d. This does not include steel, which is to be supplied by the department. Work on both the bridge and tho mile of road to lead from it into Paremata will bfc commenced immediately. I'he bridge will be ready within 12 months and the road has been declared a main highway. Tho bridge will comprise nine spans on concrete piers, providing for a 22ft. road with 4ft. footways on each side.
