LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
Epsom.—There was a large attendance at the meeting of the Epsom branch, held on Thursday. Mrs. James Wylie, the newly-elected president, was in the chair. An instructive talk on "The Training of Children" was given by Miss Kennedy, of the Auckland Training College. One of the features of the afternoon was a recitation by Mrs. Kirkpatrick, of the Onehunga branch. Afternoon tea served by a committee under the convcnership of Mrs. do Launay brought tlio afternoon to a close. Grey Lynn.—The annua] meeting of the Grey Lynn branch was held in St. Columba's Hall, Surrey Crescent, Mrs. Hynes presiding. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. W. Hynes; vice-presidents, Mrs. McKenzie and Mrs. McFcrran; secretary and reporter, Mrs. H. Porter; treasurer, Mrs. G. Adair; magazine secretary, Mrs. Watson; pianist, Mrs. Heath; correspondent, Miss Davis; committee, Mesdames Townscnd, Trenwith, Boler, Dunne, Armitage, Hogwood and Noild. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Wainwright, Lewis and Nield.' Arapuni.—The annual meeting of the branch was held this week. The thought for the month was sent by Mrs. Clark, a past-president, who also donated a "thought book." Tlio election of officers resulted:—President, Mrs. Griffin; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Lyoijs; vice-president, Mrs. Aikman; magazine secretary, Mrs. Ackland; committee members, Mesdames Barr and Ackland. Mrs. Aikman gave an address, and a competition for the best moccasins was won by Mrs. Lyons. Mrs. Griffin demonstrated making paper flowers. One new member was enrolled.
