RACES AT ELLERSLIE

PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB VOGUE FOR TAILORED SUITS Winter conditions prevailed at Ellerslie on Saturday, when the Pakuranga Hunt Club held its annual race meeting. Although the sun appeared at fleeting intervals, there was a cold wind, and racegoers sought the shelter of the stands. Ensembles in tweed, and tailored suits worn with high-necked wool or wool lace jumpers were greatly favoured, while many tailored frocks wero worn under warm coats. Furs, which are so becoming, wore much in evidence, as were high collars on tweed and cloth coats, while some very attractive short fur jackets and full-length fur coats were also seen. Tricorn and Tyrolean hats with jaunty quills, and big tains of felt or velvet were popular, also a few halo hats worn back from the forehead.
