DOMINION FARMERS
END OF NOTABLE TOUR | ! SCOTLAND AND THE WEST [from our ows correspondent] LONDON, July 20 Since leaving London on July 3 the New Zealand farmers' party on tour have been favoured with almost unbroken sunshine. After their two days at the Royal Agricultural Show at Newcastle, they were in Scotland for a time, visiting Edinburgh and Glasgow. They returned south to Liverpool and Chester, and then started a motorcoach tour on July 12 of Wales and the West Country. On Tuesday last the party reached Maisemore Park, Gloucester, where they viewed Mr. J. J. Cridlan's famous herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. They continued to Cirencester, where they were met at the Agricultural College by the principal, Mr. R. Boutiiour, and other members of the staff. It was at this college that Lord Bledisloe was a student and became a gold medallist, subsequently holding the position of chairman of its governing body. Lord Bledisloe, who was attending the naval review, sent a letter regretting his inability to meet the New Zealand party at his old college. After a tour of inspection of the college and farm the party were entertained at luncheon at the college. The principal said the institution was the mother college of the whole of the agricultural education in the Empire, being founded in 1845. It was more or less the same size now as then, but next year they hoped to extend it considerably. The tour was completed in London two days ago. Some of the members of the party will remain in England for some time.
