THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE FURTHER RISE IN CEMENTS / There was a comparatively heavy turnover at the single call on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday. Levels were inclined to be easier and some of the leading issues were marked down slightly. However, most business was done at unchanged rates. Although ''support for Government Joans was somewhat weaker, the 1949 4 per cent issue was taken 2s 6d dearer at £llO 5s and the 1955's unchanged a t £ll2 15 s. A parcel of Gisborne Sheepfanners' debentures changed hands at £lo.'} 10s, which is £2 higher than the last sale in May Several bank issues were unsupported 'and there was generally a weaker inquiry. The only sale was in Reserve Banks at the current rate. The demand for insurances al>o was easier, but business passed at late rates. A feature of the market for industrials was the strong demand for Wilsons Cement, which sold at 42s S'd and 42s 6d,. a net gain of 6d. Kauri Timbers moved up by .'ld in dealing, but other Australian issues were easier. A parcel of Broken Hills was released pd lower at 665. After selling steadily at lis 6d, Consolidated Brick were secured Id cheaper. Sales in other issues were made at current values.
