SCHOOL CALF CLUBS

PROGRESS IN THE NORTH [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Saturday A report prepared bv Mr. C. J. Hamblvn, fields division instructor, Department of Agriculture, who is in charge of the School Calf Clubs in the north, indicates that this year there are 2o schools in the Whangarei and Southern Bay of Islands district with calf clubs. The number of children taking part in the senior calf-rearing competition is 2ti(), an average of 10.4 a school. At a number of the schools arrangements have also been made for junior calf-rearing competitions. The native school at Pamapuria, in the far north, has a strong club again this year, and a small club has been formed at the Mangamuka Bridge School.
